Don't make the walls solid colors, no music, if there is walking try to find the sound of footsteps on carpet. Reverb is a good way to make things sound empty and lonely. If you want a monster, make it fast and don't let it stand still, the longer you see a monster the less scary it is. Don't make movement smooth like flying. wobbly. :)
